MARK Skateboards
MARK Skateboards are limited-edition skateboard decks designed for discriminating skaters and collectors—hand silk-screened in the USA on the finest laminated North American maple. I worked on this project during my time at Marc English Design, and together, we made sure the decks were rooted in art, culture, literature, and film. The founder of MARK Skateboards was the other Mark behind MARK, Mark Gobble. Sadly, an underaged drunk driver killed Gobble in a hit-and-run during an early morning job. Despite being born deaf, his favorite musical group was the Beastie Boys, and he left his mark on us, the deaf community, and his adopted children, Shana and Kang—who were also the inspiration behind two of the skateboard deck designs.
Marc English provided creative direction, and I contributed to nearly every piece of the visual identity. I created production-ready files, designed business cards, the MARK Skateboards website, sales and marketing pieces, and more.
Creative direction and design by Marc English. Design support and production by Joseph Israel Raul Bullard and Tyler Barnes.
